Founder Joe Ley first registered Hytec Services Ltd in 1982. Initially the bulk of work came from a support role maintaining business computers in the newspaper and printing industries.

Then in the 80's when sales of the personal computer took off ...Joe and Hytec Services were actively involved in this era on the North Shore of Auckland.

He first started writing the "Business Computing" newsletter in 1995. The long lasting monthly IT newsletter has survived intact from 1995 ...apart from a name change. (Formally known as the "Office Internet News".)

In 2002 Joe started licensing other computer companies around New Zealand to use the newsletter.

This scheme has progressed and now small business operators in Australia, USA and the UK are actively using the newsletter.
